Contribution-energy self-assessment
Which kinds of work give you energy?
Successful work involves several different kinds of contribution. Few people find all of them equally energizing, and teams tend to work best when the full range is visible and shared.
Six contributions that move work forward
- 1. Noticing questions, needs, and opportunities
- 2. Creating possible solutions
- 3. Evaluating and refining ideas
- 4. Building enthusiasm and momentum
- 5. Supporting implementation
- 6. Driving work to completion
What this exercise explores
It looks at which activities tend to energize you and which tend to drain you. Energy is different from competence: you may be highly capable at work that still tires you, and energized by work you are still learning.
